Watch the workflow

See EveStella turn a consultation into a review-ready note.

In this short demo, a clinician runs a routine consultation. EveStella transcribes it live, drafts a SOAP note, a patient summary and patient instructions, and flags codes for review; all before the clinician signs. Every line links back to the moment it was said.

Demo uses synthetic patients. No real patient data shown.

Every role

Built for the whole care team, not just the doctor.

Each role gets its own output, built from what was already captured earlier in the visit — so nothing is typed twice.

How it works

Built so clinicians can trust the draft.

Every note is traceable, reviewable and signed by a person before it reaches the record.

Source-linked notes

Every line links back to the part of the conversation it came from.

Your templates

Notes follow your sections, specialties and note styles.

Own voice

Drafts keep each clinician’s natural phrasing and style.

Codes flagged

Suggested codes and uncertain details are highlighted for review, never auto-filed.

EHR write-back

Signed notes go back to your EHR through FHIR; tested with Epic and OpenEMR.

Frequently asked questions

What buyers ask about AI scribes.

Straight answers on choosing, deploying and trusting an AI scribe across a multi-site clinic group.

01 What is the best AI scribe for a multi-location clinic group?

Direct answer: The best AI scribe for a multi-location group works with every EHR across your sites, covers every role in the visit, gives head office one set of templates and reporting, and keeps patient data where your rules require. EveStella by KastHunt is built for this: one connected flow from intake to signed note, deployed in your own environment.

What to check, and how EveStella meets each

  • Every EHR you run. Groups often run two or three systems after acquisitions. EveStella writes signed notes back through FHIR where the EHR allows, has been tested with Epic and OpenEMR, and uses a browser route or secure copy where no API exists.
  • Every role, not just the doctor. Most scribes document only the consultation. EveStella also covers patient intake, front desk, nursing — including triage, SBAR and medication reconciliation — and admin reporting.
  • One standard across sites. Head office sets templates, consent wording and retention rules once; each site keeps its local variations. Admin dashboards show time to sign-off, edit rate and completeness by site and clinician.
  • Data where it must stay. EveStella runs on your servers or your own AWS or Azure account, so audio and notes never leave your boundary.
  • A licence that scales. One organisation-wide, volume-based licence instead of per-clinician fees, which matters as you add sites.

02 How does an ambient AI scribe turn a consultation into a signed clinical note?

Direct answer: An ambient AI scribe listens to the consultation with consent, transcribes it, drafts a structured note, highlights anything that needs checking, and waits for the clinician to approve it before it reaches the record. EveStella does this in four steps, starting from the patient’s intake so the note never begins from a blank page.

Step 1 — Capture the conversation

Before the visit, the patient’s intake answers — reason for visit, medications and allergies — are already in EveStella. During the visit, it records with consent, separates speakers, and picks out medications, numbers and history. Audio is deleted after the note is created — 24 hours by default.

Step 2 — Draft in the clinician’s own voice

EveStella organises the note into your templates, such as SOAP, referral letter or SBAR handover, while keeping each clinician’s usual phrasing. Every sentence links back to the moment it was said, so the clinician can check the source in one click.

Step 3 — Flag before sign-off

Suggested codes — ICD-10, SNOMED CT, MBS or provincial codes, by region — and any low-confidence details are highlighted. Critical facts such as units, sides of the body and medication names are also checked by rules, not left to the AI alone. Nothing is filed until a clinician reviews and signs.

Step 4 — File and report

The signed note is written back to the EHR, every action is logged, and the admin dashboard updates by site.

03 Can an AI medical scribe run on-premise or in our own cloud?

Direct answer: Most AI scribes run only in the vendor’s cloud, so patient audio leaves your organisation. EveStella is one of the few that can be deployed on your own servers or in your own AWS or Azure account, so audio, transcripts and notes stay inside your security boundary and under your policies.

Why it matters

  • Data residency rules. Some regions and buyers require health data to stay in-country or in-house — for example Victoria’s public health services in Australia, UAE health data law, and many NHS and Canadian provincial buyers.
  • Security reviews are simpler when no patient data goes to a third party.
  • You control retention, access and audit with your existing tools.

How EveStella runs in your environment

  • We match the speech and language models to your infrastructure — cloud or local options — based on accuracy, speed, cost and where data must stay.
  • If a model or service fails, audio is queued securely or routed to an approved backup, so clinics keep working.
  • PHI masking, de-identification, access logs and decision logs are built in.
  • During the Founding Partner beta, KastHunt can host EveStella for you in your region’s AWS before moving it into your environment.
04 Which AI scribe works for nurses, receptionists and admin staff — not just doctors?

Direct answer: Most AI scribes are built for the doctor’s consultation note. EveStella supports five roles in one connected flow — patient intake, front desk, nurses, doctors and specialists, and admin teams — so information captured at check-in or triage is reused in the consultation note instead of being typed again.

What each role gets

  • Patient intake: dynamic pre-visit questions that change with each answer; reason for visit, medications and allergies captured once.
  • Front desk: check-in summaries, call and message notes linked to the right patient, and a referral intake log that shows what is missing.
  • Nurses: triage notes, vitals, admission assessments, medication reconciliation lists and SBAR handovers.
  • Doctors and specialists: SOAP notes in their own voice, referral and consult letters, patient summaries, follow-up tasks, and suggested codes for review.
  • Admin: notes completed and time to sign-off by clinician and site, edit rate, documentation completeness, no-shows and referral loop closure.

Why it matters: the work before and after the consultation — intake, triage, handovers and referrals — is often where documentation time and errors build up. Covering the whole visit saves time for the whole team, not one role.

05 How do AI scribes integrate with EHRs like Epic?

Direct answer: AI scribes connect to EHRs at four levels: built into the EHR, embedded through the EHR’s APIs, sending a structured note into the record, or copy-and-paste through a browser. EveStella uses FHIR to write signed notes back where the EHR allows — tested with Epic and OpenEMR — and falls back to a browser route or secure copy elsewhere.

The four integration levels

Level 1 Built into the EHR

The scribe is part of the EHR’s own product and interface.

Level 2 Embedded through APIs

The scribe opens inside the EHR through supported app interfaces.

Level 3 · EveStella Structured write-back

A reviewed and signed note returns to the record through FHIR.

Level 4 · Fallback Browser or secure copy

A practical route when an EHR does not expose an open API.

How EveStella integrates

  • FHIR-based write-back of signed notes where the EHR allows.
  • One EHR integration across your organisation is included in the licence; others are added during customisation.
  • A browser extension is in development for EHRs without open APIs; secure copy works today.
  • If the EHR is down, signed notes are held securely and filed when it returns.

Ask any vendor: for each of our EHRs, which level do we get, and what data writes back?

06 Are AI scribes accurate and safe enough for clinical use?

Direct answer: AI scribes save time, but none are error-free. Ontario’s provincial assessment found incorrect medical information in all 20 products tested, and a 2025 study found errors in most AI-drafted notes — mostly omissions. Safe use needs source-linked notes, clear flags and clinician sign-off. EveStella is built around all three, and it does not diagnose.

The most common errors

  • Omissions: something important was said but left out.
  • Hallucinations: something appears that was never said.
  • Wrong attribution: the patient’s words recorded as the clinician’s, or the reverse.
  • Numbers and sides: wrong dose, unit, vital sign or left/right.

How EveStella reduces the risk

  • Every sentence links to its source in the conversation, so checking takes seconds.
  • Low-confidence parts and suggested codes are highlighted for review.
  • Critical facts — units, laterality and medication names — are checked by rules as well as AI.
  • Nothing reaches the record until a clinician signs; every edit and approval is logged.

What your organisation should do: audit a sample of notes every month, train clinicians to review before signing, and tell patients how the tool is used.
